Maine At the Forefront of Net Neutrality?

Maine, the state that just got telephones last year, on the leading edge of Net Neutrality? It may be hard to believe, but it's true. Yes, despite what you might think, we do have indoor plumbing and even high-speed internet (in certain areas).

I'm proud of my new home state!

Week 2 in Maine

A tiring but productive second week in the wilds of Maine. Mondo Corp is catching my attention as I learn more about them - although two weeks is a short time to make any good judgements. I see to be at the top of my class based on the recent mid-session assessment, so that's good to know.

The moving van arrived earlier than scheduled, which was nice. We were able to unpack and getting things into the storage unit. The most expensive items - like our ridiculously large TV and my husband's tools - are safe and sound here in the house.

For the past two days (and luckily the weekend) it has been gorgeous. This is the reason to move to Maine. On a daily basis I drive past a harbor full of sailboats looking out at the ocean. On the weekends I can come home and sit on the porch looking at the lake. And I've kayaked 2 days in a row - that never would have happened in Minnesota!

Jealous? I would be if I wasn't here already.

Day 2: AM - Blogging when I Should be Eating

7:26 AM Eastern time. I should be eating breakfast right now, as I'm due at my new job by 8:00 AM. (Don't worry, it's only a 10 minute drive). Does this signal an addiction? Not by any means. In the end, I hope to be doing blogging and my own business full time, the "day job" is just until my own business gets off the ground.

This feels more like a Twitter than a post, but there will be more to report after I return from Mondo Corporation I'm sure. Enjoy the day!

Day 1: Moving to Maine

It's the end of day one. We are here, exhausted, but here. Not much accomplished but that is ok.

My son and I have arrived in Maine and my husband is due to follow by June 15th. We miss him already, but he will be able to finish the school year out and get all those papers graded without us around.

I'm starting my new job tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. Previously I have worked at small to medium-sized companies, so the switch to "Mondo Corporation" will be quite a shock I'm sure.

So we've arrived, safe, in one piece, and ready for a great Maine summer. Follow along as we let you know if it's possible to pick up and move from the Midwest to Maine - and enjoy it!

Glossary

To protect the innocent, I'm using some stage names. Here they are in no particular order:

Boo Bear - my son. He's 2 and a blonde curly headed cutie!
MeMa - Grandma
Pop-pop - Grandpa
KIP - that's me, the blog creator.
Mondo Corporation - My new company, to say it's large would be an understatement. I won't say much about them - for now.

I don't have a nickname for my husband yet because I don't know if he'll be blogging here or want to make up his own. I'll update the post if so.
